When he played a sample of his music I could have listened to it for hours! As he travels all over you won’t want to miss the opportunity to practice yoga while he’s here.”

He's excited to bring some of his atmospheric, electronic music to this yoga class after collaborating with yoga instructors from Colorado and New Mexico to New Hampshire this past year.

Ross will have his new album, Clouds, perfect for yoga and meditation, available for purchase at the studio ($12)! (Those who attend all four classes will receive it for free.)

Why Cacao?

Cacao “Food of the Gods” is chocolate as nature created it.

Cacao has been used ceremonially for thousands of years by indigenous peoples of Central and South America. A sacred gift from Earth Cacao opens the heart and unifies the energy field of the group. While creating a mild euphoric effect, Cacao also sharpens the mind keeping you alert and aware during mindful practice and sound meditation. Daniel sources his cacao directly from Mayan wisdom keepers and has received there blessing to share it with you! This is a 5000 year old strain of cacao!!

What is “Lucid Meditation”

Hansen has been developing the Lucid Meditation over 100 sound journeys. He has worked with renowned meditation instructors, Mayan Wisdom keepers, and Yoga Nidra facilitators. This meditation is designed to work with the breath and create relaxation in the body, peace in the soul, a deeper connection to sound, and positive visualization in the mind.

What are lucid dreaming herbs?

Mugwort will be offered in a tincture. This powerful herb has the ability to make dreams longer, clearer, more vivid and pronounced. When combined with the “Lucid Meditation” participants may have an increased visual experience. Enhanced dreams the night of the event is also a possibility.

Testimonials:
Daniel's Sound Journey made me feel as though I was gifted 2 hours of clarity. I was gifted a glimpse into my divine purpose here on earth. I saw – but more importantly – I felt the essence of my ultimate existence unfolding. In those moments while I was lucid, I felt so purely contented, connected, and joyful that I started to cry. I saw myself in the company of loved ones – we were all supporting one another – and we all loved ourselves and our community so purely and deeply. The giving and receiving between us flowed forth abundantly. Nobody sat with scarcity or loneliness as we fluidly exchanged love in all of its many forms. Lack was no more as fear was no longer necessary for survival. We were all with acceptance, at peace, and happy. Everyone was living for the same reason: to be happy, healthy, connected, and free to express ourselves without fear of judgment. -Mia Tempe AZ

I attended this sound journey once before at OneDoorLand. It was worth it alone to witness the singular sonic wonder of RootFlute - this one man holy band, with his flute inventions and his gong and cymbal rack and his full body orchestration. In a small but very real and true way, you just haven't lived yet if you haven't experienced his sacred performance art. Those of us down to imbibe cacao drank our cacao, we laid down on our mats, closed our eyes, and were transported straight to the crystal castles of the imaginal realms, straight to Oz. It was highly psychoactive, in the best way, in the beauty way, in the golden waterfall of abundance at the center of all things way. I will definitely be attending again, wouldn't miss it. -Mindy, Portland

"Imagine receiving the gift of a journey, but not just any journey… a journey through sound, through the forest of your soul immersed in Daniel Hansen’s spiritually crafted soundscape and adrift upon a sea of essential oil scented air while floating on spreading warmth of freshly brewed Cacao… an immersive and mystical experience like this in the company of beautiful and divine friends is more than a gift, it is a moment in time where the otherworldly essence of the spirit is free to wander down paths of light and tone guided through the landscape of dreams and imagination by a Master Sound Story Teller." - Vagabond Ink

"Thank you Dan Hansen and for an amazing healing sound journey last night!!! It was truly the peace and centering I have been needing! I hope to never miss another! So tremendously wonderful! If you have not experienced this magic, you haven't fully lived. Seriously such a profound experience. Can't wait for the next one!" - Lacy

"So much love to Daniel Hansen for the aaaahhh-mazing Rootflute Sound Journey last night! I am just blown away by the musical mastery, the effortless clearing and the beauty these two created! I can't wait to do it again! (and to one day have a flute of my own!) If you didn't come out, you missed out big time...make sure to come to the next one!" - Nina

"Not knowing what to expect I entered the space at La Paz and got comfortable. What followed was out of myself and out of this world. Starting with a full dose of cacao, I got comfortable and followed the guided meditation to a state of relaxation and openness. The sound delivered by Mr. Root Flute, from his self-made, multi-instrumented station, was phenomenal. It filled my being and carried me off and away. The skill of Daniel's performance is phenomenal. I started to see things; the rising music lifted me through jungles up to mountains, in moments of repreive I could fly above it all. Visuals kept coming and I began to see a small version of myself, sat and made of light in the distance. As the music progressed so too did visions until the figure got so close it overlapped my being. I became it and could see myself sat. An outer body experience. Such was the power of the cacao and the music. I layed back and drifted on that dreamy edge between sleep and wakefulness. Sitting back up I felt unblocked. Tears came out. An excellent experience that took me by surprise and left me feeling positive and uplifted.
Strongly recommended!"

TESTIMONIALS

Graciela’s knowledge of yoga and restorative yoga in particular is thorough, intuitive and compassionate. She conveyed the essence as well as the particulars beautifully during our training. Her choice of assignments, the materials provided, and the composition of the three days’ training gave me a solid foundation for my own restorative practice, and the inspiration to share it with other Yogis in the future.

-A. Poston, September 2017

If we have good fortune, we meet teachers who embody their craft. If we are blessed we know one or two who impart through their passions and their actions, their skills. Graciela passes on a legacy of listening deeply to  self, other, and the connection which is the Self. Layer by layer, breath by breath Gracie embraces each student’s capacity to Restore Self. A five star course.

-Kirt, J. Baab, LMSW, ERYT-200, March 2018

Gracie’s restorative yoga: deep listening training was one of the highlights of my year. It felt like a yoga retreat, was my favorite workshop/training I’ve ever attended, and by the culmination I felt more connected to everyone there and to myself. What a gift!

"Huichols: Last Guardians of the Peyote", documentary film

The urgent story of the mystical Wixarika People, the Huicholes: one of the last pre-Hispanic alive cultures in Latin America. Their struggle against the Mexican government and multinational mining corporations to preserve Wirikuta, their most sacred territory and home of the famous peyote cactus. The mining activities of the Canadian companies that got the concessions in 2010 to prospect this protected area, rich in silver, gold and other minerals, are seen by the Wixarika and their supporters as a great menace for the delicate biodiversity of this unique ecosystem, listed by the UNESCO as World Cultural and Natural Heritage. An unequal and controversial fight from today that triggers the global debate between ancient cultural values, the exploitation of nature and the inevitable development of the peoples.

Spring Equinox Ceremony

Wednesday March 20th, 2-3pm

Join us for another Ceremony with intention to raise our vibrations individually and collectively!

WHAT IS THE EQUINOX?

The word Equinox is derived from Latin, which means “equal night.” When the sun passes over the equator on the equinox, the length of day and night are said to be approximately equal. This means that there will be approximately 12 daylight hours and 12 hours of darkness on both the vernal equinox and the autumnal equinox.

The Spring Equinox is a day to celebrate the revival of life after a long cold winter. Our focus shifts from internal to external, from preparation to action. This is a time of renewal and rebirth.

During this Ceremony we will release the last remnants of the old ways of thinking and plant new seeds for living as conscious co-creators of our reality.

Kids are welcome.

Co-hosted by Mike Two Bears, Ariana and Cliff Bain.

Mieshiel will be exhibiting six very large intricate pencil drawings from a series called “In the Field” which are surrealistic works based on creating reality from the zero point field where all things become possible.

Mieshiel was born in New York City. He attended Friends Seminary & received his BFA in 1986 from California Institute of the Arts. Upon graduations, Mieshiel moved into a 19th century Masonic Temple in Los Angeles where he co-founded Temple Art Performance, a hub for avante-garde performance art, music & visual art. He later moved to New Mexico & spent the next 24 years in near seclusion, living off the grid. In this high desert sanctuary timelessness & utter quiet allowed him to experience an endless barage of mystical experiences where his art connection with Pablo Amaringo was revealed. In 1982 Mieshiel won competition & created a street mural at Irving Place in NYC. His work has been exhibited nationally & is included in the permanent collections of the Harwood Museum of Art in Taos.

Musical Talent:

Esmé Olivia is a performing & teaching artist grateful to have grown up in occupied Tiwa Pueblo lands known as Albuquerque, NM to a Mestiza Mexican-American mother & Dutch father. Her blood is a peace treaty she honors through prayers of dance, poetry & song. She is a company member with Dancing Earth Creations. Listen, look and learn more at EsmeOlivia.com.

Vic Hennegan has been writing, recording, producing and performing electronic music for several years. As a live performer he has performed at such shows as The Gathering Concert Series in Philadelphia, Cyberstock of Los Angeles, Ecstatic Dance, 5 Rhythms Dance, Soul Motion, Northern California Dance Collective and many other venues around the world. With computers, samplers, vocals and synthesizers, Hennegan’s instinctive hand creates techno- trance and ambient music in a wildly fun, uplifting spiritual experience that will take your soul on a journey to the center of ecstasy.

Alana Grier is a songwriter, vocalist, and bass player with a world beat, eclectic sound. She wrote her first songs performing in Reggae bands in Hawaii, opening up for bands like Alpha Blondie in the mid 80’s. Her first vocal coach studied Hindustani classical voice India. 4 week Belly Dance Series with Annya Ishtara

Get your hips warmed up! It's belly dance time!

Belly dance is more than just exercise for your body. Yes, it increases strength, flexibility, balance, and burns calories. But even more importantly, it is a way to nourish and develop your whole self, connecting you to your body, your emotions, and your feeling of personal power. Cultivate your feminine mystery and mystique with this ancient women's dance form from the Middle East! All genders welcome.

Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in, and ideally bring a fringed or coin scarf or shawl to tie on your hips so you can see and/or hear your hip movements. No scarf? No problem! Just come as you are.

Bare bellies are welcome, but not required!

Mondays, 10:30 - 11:30 AM

March 4 - 25, 2019

Cost is $40 for all 4 classes. You can try the first class on March 4 only for $12 for the one class. OR pay for the 4 week series at the first class. Members and class passes welcome

Bio Annya Ishtara:
My path to becoming a belly dancer began as a young girl, when I knew I wanted to be a belly dancer, despite having never seen one, or even having heard Middle Eastern music. When I eventually began belly dance lessons in 1991, I was instantly hooked on the beautiful movements, vibrant music, exotic costuming, and the discovery of Middle Eastern cultures from which this dance comes. Belly dance is such a diverse, deep, and fascinating topic, that I haven’t stopped learning since!

My other dance studies began with Jazz and Ballet when I was a teenager and evolved to encompass Haitian, West African, and Cuban Orisha dances, Butoh, and Contact Improvisation, among others. I have also studied Rajasthani Gypsy dance of the Kalbelia people and Ghoomar Ladies dance in Rajasthan, India, and Turkish Roman (Gypsy) dance in Turkey.

I have a wide background in movement, energy training, and physical body studies. I have studied a variety of dance and movement forms for over 35 years, including yoga (in India and the US), and tai chi and qigong (in the US and China). I have a Qigong Instructor Certification and a Tai Chi Teacher certification from Qigong Academy. I am also a trained massage therapist, Level 2 Reiki practioner, licensed minister, and have been trained as a licensed Art of Feminine Presence® teacher. I am certified in Level 1 of Sadie Marquant’s Raqs Flow Bellydance Training Program.

I dance and perform in the classic American Cabaret style of belly dance, improvising 99.9% of my performances. While I love dancing with Middle Eastern bands, I have also belly danced to a sitar band, a psychedelic klezmer band, several industrial rock/punk bands, Cuban bata drum ensembles, and I have performed with rock guitar virtuoso Eric McFadden and his trio.

My oldest student (so far) was 89, and my youngest student was 7. Belly dance really is for all ages!

Mushrooms and Human Evolution with Jen Clausen

Saturday, March 9th 4-5:30pm, Donations Appreciated

The science and story of two medicinal mushrooms and how they can be integrated into our lives to activate our highest potential- Relieve anxiety, depression, and other mental dis-eases, unlock creative powers, uplift energy, enhance daily focus and a general sense of connectedness.

This lecture is intended to explore our role as citizen scientists and self healers. I’d like to dissect our current stigmas and programming around the mushroom and try to understand how we got here and what scripts are no longer serving us. They are here to teach and aid in our evolution as a whole- today we will discuss how we can integrate this wisdom.

I will share ways in which these mushrooms can be used as both medicine and supplement to improve the quality of our lives and the effects and benefits of microdosing. I will also touch upon the properties of other ancient healing mushrooms.
